A fire ban issued May 26 for all areas north of the North Saskatchewan River, including Little Red River Park, has been lifted. The City of Prince Albert lifted the ban at noon Thursday, pointing to recent rain as the reason. Residents are reminded that recreational burning must comply with city bylaws and failure to do so may result in a $300 fine. The Prince Albert Fire Department is also reminding residents and visitors to follow fire safety rules when using backyard fire pits, chimineas and barbecues. Anyone planning to burn vegetation on their property must get a burn permit by making an application through the fire department, which may include an inspection and fee.
