Regina’s chain restaurant scene is growing, with burger joint Wayback Burgers joining the fray. The new location is set to open Jan. 28 on Chuka Blvd. in the Greens neighbourhood. The Connecticut-based chain already has two Saskatoon locations, along with Yorkton and Moose Jaw. The majority of its Canadian locations are in the prairie provinces. Regina has seen a string of new chain restaurants opening locations in the city over the last year, with openings of Firehouse Subs, Jersey Mike’s and more along with the planned opening of an IHOP/Applebee’s joint location sometime in 2026. Wayback will join a competitive ‘fast-casual’ burger market in Regina, which is occupied by several other chains along with a number of local players.
