Métis Nation-Saskatchewan says it has signed a citizenship agreement with the University of Regina during the group’s general assembly over the weekend. It says the agreement is similar to two others with the University of Saskatchewan and Sask. Polytechnic, and means the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan registry will verify all applications to the institution claiming Métis heritage. A news release from the group says results of an independent audit of the registry by KPMG were presented at the assembly and confirmed that citizenship applications submitted under the Coming Home program undergo rigorous validation.
