Environment Canada has issued tornado warnings for parts of southeastern Saskatchewan Saturday afternoon. According to the weather agency, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado moves through the area. It said at 4:02 p.m. the storm was located over Neudorf and moving east at 50 km/h. “Destructive winds, damaging hail and flooding rainfall are possible, the warning read. The warnings include Neudorf, Killaly, Lemberg and surrounding areas, including the RM of Grayson. Environment Canada described the situation as “very dangerous and potentially life-threatening.” The agency said tornadoes can be hidden by rain and may not be visible. Residents are being urged to take cover immediately in a basement, interior room or sturdy shelter if threatening weather approaches. Those without access to shelter are advised to lie in a low-lying area and protect their head from flying debris.
