Sask. RCMP seize 1.2 kilos of cocaine during traffic stop

Two Saskatchewan men and a woman from Manitoba have been charged after RCMP seized 1.2 kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop in December.

According to an RCMP news release, around 5 p.m. on Dec. 10 officers received a report that drugs were being transported in the Kamsack, Sask. area. Patrols were done until a suspect vehicle was located and stopped.

RCMP say two men and a woman were arrested without further incident and 1.2 kilograms of cocaine was found hidden inside the vehicle along with cell phones and cash.

As a result, a 29-year-old man from Pelly, Sask. and a 33-year-old woman from Swan River, Man. were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000.

A 27-year-old man from Lloydminster, Sask. was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

The 29-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court in Kamsack on Jan. 28, the 27-year-old man and 33-year-old woman made court appearances in Kamsack on Tuesday, RCMP said.

Kamsack, Sask. is about 270 kilometres northeast of Regina.
