Defensive lineman Kendy Charles, who spent the 2025 CFL season on Saskatchewan’s practice roster, signed with the Riders on Monday for the 2026 season. The 24-year-old Charles did not see any regular or postseason action with the Riders who won 2025 Grey Cup on Nov. 16 with a 25-17 victory over the Montreal Alouettes. Charles, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 287 pounds, spent four seasons at Liberty University (2020-2023) before transferring to Duke University for his senior year (2024). In 13 games with the Blue Devils, Charles registered 50 defensive tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery. He was named Second Team All-ACC. Charles played 37 games, starting 21, for Liberty. In four seasons he collected 108 defensive tackles, 14 sacks and one forced fumble. In addition to playing in four bowl games at Liberty, he served as a team captain in 2023.
