Regina police charge man in connection with first homicide of 2026

A suspect is facing several charges in connection to the city’s first homicide investigation of 2026.

Kobe Samuel Fiddler, 26, was charged earlier this week with indignity to a dead body and flight from a peace officer.

He made his first court appearance on these charges on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

According to an update from the Regina Police Service (RPS) on Friday, Fiddler is now facing three additional charges including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and accessory after the fact to murder.

He was scheduled to appear back in court on Friday to face the new charges.

On Jan. 19, just before 3 a.m., officers attempted a traffic stop near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street, according to RPS.

The driver evaded police, but the vehicle was found a short time later on the 1400 block of Princess Street. All occupants of the vehicle fled the area. Officers searched the vehicle and found the body of a man inside the vehicle.

The investigation is considered ongoing, and anyone with information that could aid investigators is asked to contact RPS or Regina Crime Stoppers.
