The Regina Pats have signed Parker Trottier to a WHL scholarship and development agreement, the team announced Wednesday. The 18-year-old forward was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the sixth round of the 2026 NHL Draft and now joins the Pats after spending last season with the U.S. National Under-18 Team, where he recorded 27 points in 61 games. Born in Edina, Minn., Trottier developed his skills at Shattuck-St. Mary’s from 2022-24, one of the United States’ premier hockey programs. Trottier is also the grandson of Bryan Trottier, a Hockey Hall of Famer who earned six Stanley Cups during his NHL career. Bryan Trottier, from Val Marie, Sask. also played in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos and the Lethbridge Broncos. In Wednesday’s announcement, Pats GM Dale Derkatch said he is thrilled to welcome Parker and his family to the organization. “Parker plays a fast, direct game and is an exceptionally intelligent player. He’s the type of player who can contribute in every situation,” he said. “He competes hard, is responsible in all three zones, and does a lot of the little things that help teams win. We’re excited to see him continue his development in Regina.”
