The Regina Pats sent forward Julien Maze to the Calgary Hitmen on Monday for a pair of third-round draft picks. Maze, who turned 18 on Dec. 7, is in his third WHL season. He was acquired by the Pats on Nov. 27, 2024, from Everett with forward Cole Temple being sent to the Silvertips. The draft picks received from the Hitmen are a 2027 third-round pick (via Everett) and a 2028 third-round pick (via Calgary). In 30 games this season, Maze has 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points. In three WHL seasons, Maze has played 139 games and collected 88 points on 28 goals and 60 assists. The Hitmen are currently in third place in the Central Division with a 16-9-3-1 record while the Pats are fifth in the East Division with a 10-17-2-1 mark. The Pats will play their final game before the WHL holiday break on Dec. 17 when they will play host to the Prince Albert Raiders. Their first game after the break is Dec. 27 in Saskatoon against the Blades.
