The end of the long weekend brought heavy rain to Regina, with Sunday and Monday seeing a steady downpour in the Queen City. But in Weyburn, a torrential downpour on Monday caused streets to be submerged in water, forcing several businesses to shut down in order to deal with the water seeping into their stores. One such instance was local café Meok Ja. The shop submitted several videos to CTV News that showed the floor of the milk tea bar covered in a pool of water. The Weyburn Review also shared a handful of photos showing city streets and sidewalks submerged in water. York Jewellers announced that their closure would extend through Tuesday due to the flooding. The City of Weyburn sent out a Facebook post around noon, stating that all leisure facilities would be closed for the remainder of the day, with arenas closing at 2 p.m. It also said the Credit Union Spark Centre will remain closed through Tuesday morning. Due to the significant flooding, the city recommended avoiding any unnecessary travel. The City of Regina also advised people to avoid flooded areas and to not enter water. Specifically, they highlighted the Albert Street and Broad Street underpasses as well as the Victoria Avenue East service road.
