The City of Moose Jaw unveiled a vision for an AI-powered future this week, with the launch of the Valley View Project.

Carpere Valley Development Corporation hosted the launch ceremony at the Grant Hall Hotel, where the project’s logistic were revealed. It is a 150-acre development that aims to position Moose Jaw as a national leader in AI-driven healthcare and smart agriculture.

“We’re inviting Moose Jaw to dream with us,” Carpere CEO Christian Yuan said at the launch on Thursday. “This ceremony isn’t about final deals—it’s about rallying support for a vision where AI healthcare and sustainable agriculture transform our region.”

“The projected 1,000 jobs and $485 million investment depend on critical enablers like power capacity. We’re here to build partnerships to make it possible,” he added.

The Project Manager of Valley View, Adrian Lai told CTV News that the rise of generative AI in the last couple of years signals that it is the future, and Moose Jaw was the ideal place to go about this venture, in part because of the cold, Saskatchewan weather.

“We think with Moose Jaw and the climate here in Saskatchewan, it’s actually perfect for it because one of the presenters mentioned that 30 to 40 per cent of the budget of a data centre is usually cooling. And because of the colder climate here in Moose Jaw, that helps with the viability of the project for sure.”

Lai said Carpere has submitted a re-zoning application with the City of Moose Jaw and are expecting a public hearing in September. The company hopes to start construction this year, if not early 2026.
