Home ravaged by fire in downtown Regina being treated as 'suspicious'

A home in downtown Regina was ravaged by a fire late Saturday night, and officials believe it may be suspicious.

Officials say the blaze originated from a mattress on fire just outside the back of the home on Montreal Street.

The blaze was on the outside of the house and spread into the attic, But crews did manage to contain the fire to back of the home.

Officials say one person and two pets were home when the fire began, but no one was injured.

The fire is being treated as suspicious, and the damage is estimated to be in the $25, 000 range.
