Saskatoon’s POP Wine Bar has been named one of the best bars in the country, earning a spot on Canada’s 50 Best Bars list published by Canada’s 100 Best. The annual ranking now in its eighth year celebrates the country’s most exceptional drinking destinations — from refined cocktail lounges to innovative wine bars and standout neighbourhood spots. This year’s list is noted for its geographic and stylistic diversity and POP Wine Bar stands out as the Paris of the Prairies representative. As described by the list, located in the downtown Saskatoon, POP Wine Bar has all the trappings of Parisienne boîte — caviar service, artisanal cheeses, oysters shucked to order and a wine list flush with small-scale producers. According to the list, guests will find francophile‑leaning wine flights featuring quirky co‑ferments, skin‑contact wines with vibrant acidity and pumpkin‑hued pours from the Okanagan Valley, alongside bottles sourced from farther‑flung regions. “The cocktail repertoire runs from excellent icy Martinis to crystal-clear milk punches,” the list read. The national recognition places POP Wine Bar alongside some of Canada’s most celebrated establishments. This year’s top honour for Best Bar went to Cloakroom in Montreal, while Toronto claimed several accolades, including Best New Bar for No Vacancy and Best Hotel Bar for the Library Bar at the Fairmont Royal York. Other major awards included Bartender of the Year for Kate Chernoff of Vancouver’s Keefer Bar and Best Patio for Edmonton’s Baiju & Little Hong Kong. POP Wine Bar has appeared on Canada’s 50 Best Bars list before, ranking No. 25 in 2025. That same year, Parlor also represented Saskatoon, coming in at No. 44.
