Government House hosts its biggest Halloween event of the season

Families showed their Halloween spirit in Regina on Sunday through a trick or treat event at Government House.

“We have a magic show that runs, four times this afternoon. Danny Kazam is here doing his show, he’s returning from last year, a very popular guy. The kids love him,” said Chad Debert, manager of Government House, on Sunday.

“We also have a lot of our friends and partners from around the community here giving out candy to the kids as they tour through the museum.”

Children dressed up in their costumes, some wearing matching outfits with their parents, and participated in several activities including trick or treating around the museum.

Volunteers from the Regina Symphony Orchestra, The Museum Association of Saskatchewan, the Globe Theatre, Darke Hall and more were also present in helping organize the biggest Halloween event of the season at the building.

“We hope that this is just an opportunity for them to get an introduction to Government House in a fun and exciting way, and then they come back with their families and hopefully learn more about the building in the property,” shared Debert.

Bernadette McIntyre, the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, also handed out candy to children.

With thousands of people attending the event on Sunday, organizers said it continues to grow larger and larger every year.
