Regina police investigating two-vehicle collision involving garbage truck

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9th Ave North and McCarthy.

The intersection of 9th Avenue North and McCarthy Blvd. has been cleared following a two-vehicle collision on Friday.

Officers were called to the area just before 4 p.m. for a report of a collision involving a commercial vehicle and an SUV, according to a release from the Regina Police Service (RPS).

Roads were blocked off between McIntosh and Courtney Street and 7th Avenue North to Rink Avenue as RPS, EMS, and Regina fire crews responded to the incident.

As of 7:30 p.m. the scene was cleared, according to an update from RPS.

EMS took the two occupants of the SUV to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the commercial vehicle, who was the lone occupant, was taken to hospital by EMS for medical assessment.

RPS says the investigation is ongoing.
