Closing arguments have now been made at the double murder trial of Dillon Whitehawk Whitehawk is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 2019 deaths of Jordon Denton and Keenan Toto. When speaking to the jury on Monday, Crown prosecutor Adam Breker focused on the consistencies between several witnesses on the happenings of Nov. 9 and Dec. 1 of 2019. Six witnesses who cannot be named due to a publication ban placed Whitehawk at the scene of the crimes. They testified Whitehawk fired the shots which killed Denton and Toto in the drive-by shootings. One of the key witnesses said under oath that both cars were filled with Indian Mafia gang members who were out looking for trouble. Another witness claimed to have heard Whitehawk say he was out to kill someone. Breker said small details and recollections differ, but there was a consistent story on the big details between several witnesses. Defense lawyer Thomas Hynes said the key witnesses cannot be taken on their word alone. The testimonies are significant pieces of the trial, but due to their backgrounds, the defense suggested more evidence is needed for the jury. The defense concluded by saying it’s possible the shooter could have been other people who were in the vehicles with Whitehawk at the time of the crimes. Chief Justice Micheal Tocher will be giving the jury final instructions on Tuesday before they begin deliberations.
