Winterlude

It’s the second weekend of Winterlude in Ottawa and Gatineau, celebrating the best the Canadian winter has to offer.

Events will be held this weekend on Sparks Street, the Snowflake Kingdom in Jacques-Cartier Park, the ByWard Market and more.

Events this weekend include:

• Interactive urban art installations: Explore fun installations on Sparks Street.
• Captivating exhibits: Discover treasures from participating museums.
• Ice sculpture exhibition: Admire these dazzling works on Sparks Street.
• Luminous night skating in the ByWard Market: Enjoy an evening of luminous night skating in addition to the winter market.
• Fête Frissons 2025 at the Shenkman Arts Centre: For fans of dance, art, poetry or simply for the festive atmosphere.

Rideau Canal Skateway

The green flag continues to fly on the Rideau Canal Skateway this weekend.

All 7.8 kilometres of the Rideau Canal Skateway are open for skating between Rideau Street and Dow’s Lake/Carleton University.

Equipment rentals are available at Capital Skates, located at the Fifth Avenue access point. The BeaverTails huts will also be open all weekend.

Disney On Ice

Mickey Mouse and the gang take over Canadian Tire Centre this weekend.

Disney on Ice presents “Mickey’s Search Party” until Sunday.

“This adventure delivers compelling storytelling through multi-levelled production numbers so be prepared to join this magical search and help unlock an epic journey,” says the Canadian Tire Centre website.

Capital Hoops Classic

Basketball bragging rights are up for grabs in Ottawa Friday night at the Arena at TD Place.

The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees face the Carleton Ravens Friday night in the Capital Hoops Classic.

The women’s game is at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 8 p.m.

Ottawa 67’s

The Ottawa 67’s hosts the Flint Firebirds Sunday afternoon at the Arena at TD Place.

Game time is 2 p.m.

Snowga

Happiness Habits 613 and the University of Ottawa Heart Institution Foundation hosts Snowga on Saturday at Lansdowne.

Enjoy yoga in the snow from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“The community is invited to embrace winter with Ottawa’s first-ever free outdoor community Yoga practice in February,” the website says.

Winter Pride

Celebrate Winter Pride in Ottawa’s ByWard Market Friday night.
