Two dead, one seriously injured in Cornwall shooting, police say

Cornwall police say two people were killed and another was injured in a shooting on Saturday. CTV’s Natalie van Rooy reports.

Cornwall police say two people died and one sustained serious injuries in a shooting on Leitch Drive in Cornwall, Ont., on Saturday.

According to police, two of the individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was taken to the hospital to treat serious injuries and is now in stable condition. Police say the individuals were all known to one another.

On Monday, Cornwall police told CTV News the incident occurred in the 400-block of Leitch Drive and officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.

Police say this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.

The Cornwall Police Service is investigating the incident.
