Teenager from Cornwall, Ont. arrested in Ottawa in stolen vehicle

The Ottawa Police Service says a teenager from Cornwall, Ont. is facing charges after officers found a stolen vehicle on Tuesday.

According to police, four young people were arrested just before 6 p.m. when officers on an unrelated call in the Glebe found a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Cornwall.

One of the four teenagers is now facing charges, police said.

The Cornwall Police Service says a 15-year-old girl has been charged with failure to comply with a probation order, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Cornwall police accused the girl of stealing a vehicle on March 26. When she was arrested in Ottawa on Tuesday and brought back to Cornwall, police said she had car keys belonging to a different stolen vehicle in her possession.

The girl cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
