Service fully restored for the O-Train Line 1

Full service for the O-Train Line 1 has been restored, and trains are once again running between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations, OC Transpo says.

According to a service alert from the transit agency, full service was restored shortly before 8 a.m. on Sunday.

OC Transpo stopped operating trains on the eastern leg of the line on Wednesday after a train near Lees Station experienced a power issue and the train line was seen sparking and snapping.

Early Friday morning, two similar power issues were spotted at Tremblay and Blair Stations. OC Transpo says they believe the issues were caused by Wednesday’s freezing rain.

Since Wednesday’s partial closure, the line has mostly been operating between Tunney’s Pasture and uOttawa stations, with the R1 replacement bus providing service to the remaining stops.

Beginning Saturday evening, OC Transpo began progressively opening stops on the line’s east end.
