Ottawa Senators fans can “chuk out” the Brady Tkachuk jerseys now that the captain is no longer a member of the club. The Ottawa Senators announced fans can trade in their officially licensed Fanatics Tkachuk jersey for a 40 per cent discount on regularly priced merchandise. The offer is available between Friday and Monday at the Ottawa Team Threads store at Canadian Tire Centre. “Out with the old and in with the new,” the Senators said in a social media post, adding fans can “Chuk out the old jerseys.” The offer only applies to the Fanatics Tkachuk jersey. The NHL signed a 10-year contract with Fanatics to become the league’s authentic outfitter of on-ice uniforms and supplier of authentic jerseys in 2023, beginning with the 2024-25 season. Tkachuk, the Ottawa Senators former captain, was traded by the Senators to the Florida Panthers on June 21 in exchange for three first-round draft picks. Senators general manager Steve Staios said Tkachuk asked to be traded. Tkachuk told reporters in Florida that it was “just time for the next chapter.” The Ottawa Titans are also offering fans a chance to exchange their old Tkachuk Senators jerseys. The baseball club says fans can exchange their Tkachuk jerseys for an AJ Wright number 7 jersey on July 7. “You’ve probably been asking yourself, what do I even do with this jersey now?” a spokesperson for the Titans said in a social media video. “Well, on July 7th, we’ve got a solution.” The Titans say fans can fill out a form, bring a Tkachuk jersey to the game on July 7 and the club will order an AJ Wright jersey.
