Porter introducing new nonstop Ottawa-Fort McMurray route

Porter Airlines is introducing a new flight this fall connecting Ottawa with Fort McMurray, Alta.

Year-round service will begin Nov. 17, with three weekly, nonstop round-trip flights, Porter says.

“Porter is the only airline offering nonstop service between the two destinations,” the airline said in a news release.

The flights from Ottawa to Fort McMurray will take off at 9:25 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The flights from Fort McMurray to Ottawa take off at 12:50 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

“Porter continues to expand its network from Ottawa, now serving 26 destinations. Fort McMurray adds to Porter’s presence in Western Canada and is the airline’s third destination in Alberta, joining Calgary and Edmonton,” Porter says. “The new route also connects Fort McMurray to Porter’s extensive Eastern Canada network through Ottawa, including St. John’s, Halifax, Moncton and Toronto.”

Porter also recently announced non-stop flights from Ottawa to Mexico, Costa Rica, Bahamas, set to begin in December. A non-stop flight between Ottawa and Victoria, B.C. launched this spring.
