Police find no one wearing seatbelts in car after driver stopped for speeding on Hwy. 417

Ontario Provincial Police say several people are facing fines for not wearing seatbelts after an officer pulled a driver over on Highway 417 Saturday evening.

The vehicle was stopped near Terry Fox Drive. Police say the driver was allegedly going 149 km/h.

According to police, there were more people in the car than there were seatbelts, and no one was wearing them, including a nine-year-old.

Police say the driver was given a $295 fine for speeding and a $240 fine for having a passenger under 16 without a seatbelt. The other passengers who did not have seatbelts on were also fined.
