OTTAWA — Ottawa will host this year’s Northern Super League championship game on Nov. 14. The winner-take-all match for the Diana B. Matheson Cup will be played at TD Place. The playoffs will take place over the two weeks leading up to the championship match, with the full schedule to be announced in the coming weeks. Named in honour of Canadian soccer legend and NSL co-founder Diana Matheson, the trophy recognizes the league champion and reflects the continued growth of professional women’s soccer in Canada. Ottawa Rapid FC (10-2-2) is atop the NSL standings heading into today’s match with third-place AFC Toronto (7-4-3). Vancouver Rise FC won last season’s championship in the league’s inaugural year.
