Ottawans Rachel Homan and Emma Miskew are Olympics-bound once again

Team Homan has punched their ticket to the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

After taking the top spot at the Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials, the Rachel Homan-led curling team hailing out of the Ottawa Curling Club will be heading to the Winter Games in Milano Cortina this February.

Homan’s squad is currently the top ranked women’s curling team in the world and features two Ottawa natives in Homan and Emma Miskew.

Miskew and Homan will be playing alongside Tracy Fleury of Sudbury and Sarah Wilkes of Toronto.

This will be Homan’s third trip to the Olympics.

While Homan’s trophy shelf contains countless medals, including three World Curling Championships golds, an Olympic podium finish has thus far eluded her. In 2018, she led Team Homan to a sixth place finish in the women’s tournament. In 2022, Homan played in the mixed-doubles tournament and finished in fifth place.

Miskew also holds three World Curling Championships gold medals and played in the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics alongside Homan.

Team Homan’s first match in the 2026 Olympics is set for Feb. 12 against Denmark at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium.
