Ottawa police seeking witnesses to February assault on elderly women near Billings Bridge

Ottawa police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect who allegedly assaulted two elderly women near Billings Bridge Shopping Centre.

In a news release Monday, police say the assault happened in the 2200 block of Riverside Drive on Feb. 2 at about 1:05 p.m.

Police say the suspects allegedly approached the two women, one of whom was using a walker, and assaulted them before fleeing on foot.

One of the women sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 20- to 25-years-old with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing sunglasses, a dark toque, a blue and green jacket, dark pants and mismatched shoes (one black and one white).

The investigation continues.
