Ottawa police seek suspect connected to Facebook Marketplace thefts in College Square area

The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in several thefts linked to Facebook Marketplace sales.

Police say the incidents have taken place in the College Square area since December 2025. The suspect would pose as a potential buyer for items like smartphones but would steal the items and run away.

The suspect is known as “Ben” and is described as a Middle Eastern man in his 20s, police said.
