Ottawa police arrest snowplow operator for driving under lifetime suspension following collision

Ottawa police say a snowplow driver involved in a collision in the Stittsville area on Monday evening was arrested for driving under a lifetime suspension.

According to a post on social media from the Ottawa Police Service, officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Fernbank Road and Black’s Side Road involving an SUV and a snowplow at 7 p.m.

The driver of the snowplow was arrested for driving under suspension following a lifetime driving ban and for having an outstanding warrant with Ontario Provincial Police.

Police say paramedics transported the driver of the SUV to the hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.

Ottawa police remind drivers to use extra caution while snow removal is underway and to report unlicensed drivers.
