Ottawa man facing child sexual abuse material charges

Ottawa police say a 30-year-old man is facing charges in connection with the distribution of child sexual abuse materials, and investigators believe there could be additional victims.

According to police, investigators from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit searched a home in Nepean Thursday and arrested one man.

Oscar Mulrooney-Cote is facing charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography, Ottawa police said. The charges have not been proven in court.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Police say internet usernames associated with the case include “Quilltonx” and “Mess-Maker.” Investigators are concerned that other victims have not yet been identified.
