Ottawa Humane Society rescues 3 cats found outside in gym bag

The Ottawa Humane Society has taken in three cats that were left outside in a closed gym bag on Wednesday evening.

In a Thursday afternoon Facebook post, the animal shelter said the three cats were scared, but have been checked up on and fed.

“They were wet, dirty and covered in their own urine and feces. We’re thankful that a kind person found them and rushed them to the OHS for care,” the Ottawa Humane Society wrote.

The Ottawa Humane Society is reminding people that animals can be surrendered to them, for no fee.

“We don’t know why they were left outside like that, but if the person who left them there is reading this, please know: you have options,” the organization wrote.

“If you can’t care for your animals and you don’t know what to do, the OHS is here for you.”
