Ottawa driver, 16, caught travelling nearly 100 km/h over limit on Walkley Road

Ottawa police say a 16-year-old G2 driver was stopped by police after being caught travelling nearly 100 km/h above the speed limit on Walkley Road near McCarthy Road on Friday evening.

According to police, the driver was travelling 146 km/h in a 50 km/h community safety zone.

Police say the driver was charged with stunt driving and had their licence suspended and car impounded.

The penalty upon conviction for stunt driving is a minimum $2,000 fine.
