Ontario Provincial Police apprehended a goat spotted running along two eastern Ontario highways, thanks to the help of a passerby who happened to have a goat. Police say officers responded to “multiple traffic hazard complaints” over several hours Wednesday night and Thursday morning about a goat running onto Highway 401 and Highway 416 south of Ottawa. “Nearby (Canada Border Services) officers happened to see us running after him and came out to help,” the OPP said on X. A passerby had a goat with them and some food to assist in the search, “allowing us to build a rapport with ‘Vincent Van Goat,’ and move in close enough to catch him safely,” according to the OPP. Video showed police and Canada Border Services officers catching the goat under a bridge near the railway tracks in the area. Police posted a photo of “Vincent Van Goat” sitting in the back of a cruiser. The goat found a new home with a nearby resident. “Never a ‘baaahring’ day in Grenville County,” the OPP said.
