Ottawa police say one man is in custody and charges are pending after a stabbing in Ottawa’s Lowertown neighbourhood sent a woman to hospital Saturday afternoon. “On Saturday, October 18, while on patrol, Ottawa Police officers observed a male suspect stabbing a female victim in the area of Cumberland Street and St. Patrick Street. Officers immediately intervened and placed the suspect under arrest,” said Sgt. Jason Brown in a statement to CTV News. “Responding officers provided first aid to the victim. The victim was then transported to the hospital by paramedics with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is currently in custody and charges are pending. There is no further threat to public safety.” Ottawa paramedics say the victim is in her 20s.
