OC Transpo piloting plastic bus seats

OC Transpo is launching a pilot project to test a new type of seat on one of its buses.

For the next six months, Bus #4715 will feature seats made of plastic instead of the typical fabric, as OC Transpo looks to see how well the seats work in “everyday service.”

In a statement on its website, OC Transpo says they’re looking to see if the seats are easier to clean and maintain than the current alternative. OC Transpo is also seeking input on whether the plastic seats are comfortable.

The City of Ottawa is asking riders to submit feedback via an Engage Ottawa survey, which will remain open from April 2 to Oct. 2. Feedback can also be provided over the phone at [phone].
