New HART Hub to open in Bells Corners in 2026

Ottawa’s second homelessness and addictions recovery treatment (HART) hub will be located in Bells Corners.

The Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre announced Friday the new HART Hub will be located at 2194 Robertson Road, with opening anticipated early in 2026.

“The launch of the HART hub reflects our commitment to meeting people with complex substance use needs with dignity, compassion, and timely care,” Tamara Chipperfield, CEO of the health centre, said in a statement.

“The West Ottawa community has been asking for substance use and housing supports. This is a collaborative, community-first model that prioritizes health. We’re proud to announce the location of our HART Hub with the goal of opening our doors to service early in the new year.”

The West Ottawa HART Hub will have seven core partners to provide services, including CAPSA, Montfort Renaissance, Ottawa Salus, Pathways to Recovery, Psychiatric Survivors of Ottawa and Recovery Care. Ottawa Public Health and the Ottawa West Court Rivers Ontario Health Team are supportive partners of the hub.

The Ontario government is creating new HART Hubs across the province, that integrate support and health system navigation. The province is spending almost $550 million to create a total of 28 hubs across the province, including two in Ottawa.

According to the West Ottawa HART Hub, the facility will offer walk-in access to substance use care, including wrap around primary care and mental health services. There will also be rapid access to addiction medicine, one-on-one support and referrals to community services and supports, peer support, housing services, access to social services and can provide referrals to longer-term in-patient treatment and stabilization programs.

“The Hub is designed to take pressure off the health system. Paramedic Services will be able to bring non-emergency clients to the Hub, quietly and without sirens, using the private rear entrance of the location,” the West Ottawa HART Hub said in a statement.

“This means fewer people in emergency departments, paramedics offload patients more quickly and get back on the road—and a more appropriate, timely option for individuals who need substance use health support.”

The HART Hub will not provide harm reduction supplies, supervised consumption or safe injection services, or safer supply.

The Somerset West Community Health Centre also operates a HART Hub, which opened earlier this year following the closure of the supervised safe consumption site.
