Trips across the Canada-U.S. border from eastern Ontario to New York State hit a 22-month high in June, but cross-border trips remain below numbers reported in 2023 and 2024, according to new U.S. data. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection says there were 175,424 conveyances at U.S. land border locations at Alexandra Bay, Massena and Ogdensburg, New York in July, up from 163,306 trips across the border in July 2025. There were 197,000 conveyances at the U.S. border crossings in July 2024 and 193,000 trips in July 2023. U.S. officials reported 152,000 trips across the Canada-U.S. border to western New York State in June, 144,000 conveyances in May and 127,000 conveyances in April. August was the fourth straight month with an increase in trips across the border from eastern Ontario to western New York state after 14 months of decline. The 175,424 conveyances at U.S. land border crossings in western New York was the highest one-month total since October 2024. The Thousand Islands Bridge, the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge and the land border crossing from Cornwall to Massena, New York all reported an increase in traffic in July. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said there were 72,200 conveyances at the Alexandria Bay port of entry at the Thousand Islands Bridge in July, up from 67,200 conveyances in July 2025. There were 56,700 trips across the border in June. At the Ogdensburg, New York port of entry, there were 24,500 conveyances across the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge from eastern Ontario in July, up from 21,894 trips in July 2025. There were 20,600 conveyances in June. The land border crossings from Cornwall and Akwesasne to Massena, New York are the busiest crossings in eastern Ontario-Western Quebec. Officials said there were 78,700 conveyances at the U.S. border in July, up from 74,200 trips in July 2025. There were 75,300 conveyances at Massena in June.
