Things got heated at Manor Park Brewing Company on St. Laurent Boulevard Thursday night. Dozens of people gathered at the brew pub to watch the first two episodes of ‘Heated Rivalry,’ the Crave Original TV series that has become an international streaming sensation. Cara Loop of Rough Draft Events put the night together, pairing crafting with a night out at the movies. It was a quick sellout, with tickets to the February and March dates gone in an hour. Due to that success, there will be more dates coming soon. “I just saw a big interest in it and I was interested in it and I have an events business here and so I thought it could be fun to get together with women here and just watch the show and do some crafts,” Loop said. “People came in, they got their Canadian snacks, and they got to do their little photo cards, watch the show. People are just very excited to be part of it.” Aaron Rothney, co-owner of the Manor Park Brewing Company, is delighted by the turnout. Having a full house on a Thursday night in February is a win, and a great way to introduce new people to the brew pub experience. “A full house, it’s lovely to see everybody out here, everybody passionate fans and I think it’s also to Heated Rivalry. Not that I’ve watched it but I know there is the Ottawa connection,” Rothney said. “It’s a mix a lot of lagers at lot of IPAs and I think I saw some stouts going out a good winter drink a good hockey drink.”
