An eastern Ontario man is facing impaired driving and dangerous driving charges after an officer observed him doing burnouts at a Kanata intersection during the Victoria Day long weekend, according to police. Ontario Provincial Police say an OPP officer was filling up the vehicle at a gas station on Terry Fox Drive shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday when they “observed a vehicle doing burnouts in the intersection.” “The driver attempted to flee but was located by OPP at another gas bar on Eagleson Road,” Const. Michael Fathi said in a media release. “The driver had also been consuming alcohol.” The 27-year-old man from Perth, Ont. is facing charges of operation while impaired, dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer, performing a stunt, and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor. Fathi said the driver also had his licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
