In a lengthy investigation that’s still unfolding, two men are facing several drug trafficking charges following a search warrant resulting in one man fleeing the scene. Dufferin OPP began a drug trafficking investigation in the spring. On July 8, investigators say they did a search warrant at a home on William Street in Shelburne. Officers arrested a 63-year-old from Shelburne. However, when they went to arrest the other man, he allegedly fled. According to OPP, on July 20, police found the other man in Brampton—a 43-year-old from Brampton—and arrested him. Police say they seized cocaine, packaging materials, scales, $1,200 cash, 120 unmarked cigarettes and a 2020 Mazda CX30. The 43-year-old is facing six charges, including trafficking an opioid, fleeing from a police officer and assaulting an officer with a weapon. The 63-year-old is facing four charges, including trafficking of cocaine. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dufferin OPP.
