Cold weekend temperatures in Ottawa, with some flurries expected

Ottawa is set to receive a blast of cold weather this weekend, with overnight lows in the minus double digits.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for overnight lows of -13 C tonight and Saturday night, and a daytime high on Sunday of -12 C.

It will be mainly cloudy today. High -5 C with the wind chill making it feel like -12.

Cloudy tonight with a 40 per cent chance of overnight flurries. Low -13 C with the wind chill making it feel like -18.

Saturday will be mainly cloudy to start the day, then flurries beginning in the morning. Ottawa could see 2 to 4 cm of snow. High -2 C.

Sunday will be sunny. High -12 C.

The outlook for Monday calls for sunshine. High -9 C.

Tuesday will see a mix of sun and clouds. High -5 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of -3 C and a low of -11 C.

December snowfall

Ottawa received 22.6 cm of snow through the first 11 days of December, including 13 cm of snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

A total of 60 cm of snow was recorded in Ottawa in December 2024 and 27.5 cm in December 2023.
