Clouds Tuesday with a possibility of showers in Ottawa

There is a chance for much-needed precipitation in the forecast Tuesday evening, but it’s unclear whether it will be a significant amount.

Environment Canada’s forecast for Ottawa calls for a high of 24 C Tuesday with a mix of sun and cloud in the morning. More clouds are expected to move in by the afternoon, bringing a 60 per cent chance of showers in the evening and overnight.

The overnight low is 14 C.

These temperatures are right in line with seasonal norms.

Ottawa remains dry, with just over 20 millimetres of rain recorded in the last three and a half weeks. The dry conditions have prompted an outdoor fire ban, and Ottawa Fire Services have warned of the risks of carelessly discarded smoking materials after several recent fires.

There is a 40 per cent chance of showers in the forecast Wednesday with a high of 21 C and a humidex of 25.

Thursday’s outlook is mostly sunny with a high of 27 C, and Friday could see sunshine with a few clouds and a high of 28 C.
