The club hosts Vancouver FC in its Canadian Premier League home opener at 1 p.m., marking the first chance for fans to see the defending champions on home turf this season. The home opener comes after questions about field conditions at TD Place earlier this spring following construction as part of the $418.8 million Lansdowne 2.0 plan. The city of Ottawa says the pitch will be ready in time for Sunday’s match following preparations and maintenance leading into the game. After lifting their first North Star Cup last year, expectations are high in the nation’s capital, with Ottawa entering the new campaign looking to build on that momentum. Atlético Ottawa will once again play a full Canadian Premier League schedule running through October, as part of the league’s eighth season. The Ottawa club has one win and two loses on the season so far. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at TD Place.
