A sunny, dry Monday ahead for Ottawa without too much heat

The forecast for Ottawa is sunny this mid-August Monday, without too much heat.

The dry spell in the city continues, with no precipitation in the forecast. Environment Canada is calling for a high of 22 C—slightly below the normal average of 24 C—with few clouds and no notable humidex. The UV index is 8, or very high.

There was a brief rainshower on Sunday, with 3 millimetres of rain recorded. So far in August, Ottawa has seen 12.2 mm total, officially.

Tonight is looking clear with a low of 10 C.

Tuesday’s forecast is sunny in the morning, with clouds moving in, bringing a 30 per cent chance of showers around the lunch hour followed by a 70 per cent chance of showers by the evening. The high is 23 C with a humidex of 26.

Wednesday’s outlook is cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 24 C.

Thursday’s forecast is sunny.
