CTV News has learned that in anticipation of possible appeal delays with the Kingsway Entertainment District, developer Dario Zulich has a temporary backup plan. Zulich has a bid in to buy the nearby Chateau Guay Motel and Restaurant, and is offering to build a basic and small casino there for Gateway. The developer says it's a way for Gateway Casinos to have something to move to when its lease expires at Sudbury Downs in April of 2020. Gateway says it's looking at a number of options The company issued a statement to CTV, saying: "Gateway is committed to building a new casino and entertainment complex in the City of Sudbury and bringing jobs and investment to the community."
