A 41-year-old woman was charged by police in Sault Ste. Marie with seven counts of possession of an identity document and other offences. “Around 9:30 a.m., officers conducting a property check in the 700 block of Queen Street East located the accused and arrested them on an outstanding warrant,” police said in a news release on Setp. 29. “Upon searching the accused, officers located multiple identification documents that did not belong to them — several of which had been reported stolen in June and July of 2026.” The woman has been charged with seven counts of possession of an identity document, four counts of possession of property obtained by crime and failure to attend court after having appeared. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
