Two sent to hospital after Sudbury crash involving an e-bike

Sudbury's Martindale Road reopened after an e-bike & vehicle collision sent two people to hospital. Their condition is unknown & local police are investigating.

Two people were taken to hospital following a collision between a motor vehicle and an e-bike on Thursday afternoon.

“Police are currently on scene responding to a collision involving a motor vehicle and an e-bike,” confirmed Greater Sudbury Police Service spokesperson Sarah Kaelas in an email to CTV News.

Police advise that the extent of the injuries sustained by the two individuals is “unknown at this time.”

Road reopened

Sudbury police said the incident had prompted the closure of Martindale Road between Gino Street and Gregg Lane.

The roadway reopened shortly before 7 p.m., police said in a social media post.

Police were also initially advising motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” said police.

Police have not release any further details at this time.
