Two men and a woman sought in car thefts in Parry Sound

The West Parry Sound detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is hoping the public can help them find three people believed to be involved in multiple stolen vehicle investigations in Parry Sound.

The first theft took place Feb. 2. Police were alerted around 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 3 about an abandoned motor vehicle at a local business on William Street.

“The investigation revealed the vehicle, a grey 2017 GMC Sierra equipped with a red snowplow, had been stolen from a business located on Station Street in Parry Sound,” the OPP said in a news release Friday.

Older teens or early 20s

“Police believe the vehicle was abandoned at approximately 1:40 p.m. on Feb. 2. Surveillance footage captured three individuals exiting the vehicle before leaving the area on foot. The individuals are believed to be one female and two males.”

The suspects are likely older teens or in their early 20s. The woman was wearing a dark grey hoodie and a baseball cap. One of the men wore a black winter jacket with white writing on the back, while the other was wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball cap.

A security cam photo showed the trio in the area of William Street on Feb. 2 around 1 or and 2 p.m.

Then on Feb. 5, OPP responded to reports of two pickup trucks in the ditch around 11:15 p.m. on George Hunt Memorial Drive in McDougall Township.

Stolen pickup trucks

“Police located two white Ford F-250 pickups. Both vehicles were determined to be stolen from a business on Great North Road in Parry Sound,” police said.

“No occupants were located.”

Police are hoping to find security or dashcam footage from George Hunt Memorial Drive between Fairway Drive and Demick Drive, and also in the area of 55 Great North Road, between 9 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 5.

And on Feb. 6, police responded to a report of another abandoned pickup truck, this time on the shoulder of Highway 400 near the Mill Lake bridge.

“Three individuals were seen walking nearby prior to police attendance, and the vehicle was later confirmed to have been stolen from a local worksite,” the OPP said.
