The Timmins Police Service has released the scene north of Algonquin Boulevard East and Highway 655 that was cordoned off on Sunday afternoon for a sudden death investigation. Officers had closed the area south of Gillies Lake and behind businesses off Algonquin East during the initial investigation. “The public is asked to avoid the area while police conduct their investigation,” the police service said in its earlier release. No foul play suspected Police said the investigation remains ongoing, though Staff Sgt. Camile Camirand has provided an update on its nature. “No foul play is suspected,” police said in an updated news release Sunday evening. Local police also thanked the public for avoiding the area while police conducted their work. Details still limited Police have still not released the identity of the deceased or the cause of death. “Further information to be shared as the investigation progresses and more information becomes available,” police said in the initial release.
