Police in Timmins are investigating reports that gunshots were fired into windows early Sunday morning in two separate incidents. In a news release, police said the reports came in around 7 a.m. Aug. 16. “In both cases, multiple gunshots were fired into the windows of the respective residences,” police said. “There were no injuries as a result of these incidents. Police believe that these were targeted incidents.” The investigation centred on Rea Street North and Elm Street North, which closed for several hours Sunday but have both been reopened to traffic. Police are requesting the public’s help with the investigation. “Specifically, police are requesting any video footage or dash cam footage from the areas between Rea Street North to McLean Street, and between Vimy Road and Jubilee Avenue, between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. Footage can be uploaded using this link.
