A week after a teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted in a Surrey park, authorities have announced charges against a 40-year-old man. The victim told police she was groped in Bear Creek Park on the evening of Aug. 9 by a suspect who then fled the area. The Surrey Police Service shared a suspect image later that week, and said officers identified and arrested a suspect the same day. Jagendar Kurana has since been charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. Police said the suspect remains in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Monday.
